What We Offer Our Members
CABA provides alpaca breeders an opportunity to share information and to work together
to promote the alpaca industry. Through our interactive website, members are able to promote
their farms with detailed profiles, photographs, and website links.
Current Areas of Focus
The work of the association happens through its committees and reflects members’ interests
and priorities. Active committees have clear objectives and meet on a regular basis to work on
projects related to them. In addition to putting on the annual CABA Classic, our members are
committed to expanding the industry, taking a leadership role in pursuing fiber processing options,
investigating enhanced husbandry and pasture management practices, and promoting alpacas’ role
in sustainable agriculture.
Meetings & Events
With the exception of December, CABA members meet monthly for business meetings, Open Barns,
or special events. Special events take the form of educational seminars and workshops, social functions,
and public events.
Most membership meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at a centrally located restaurant.
Those wanting to order dinner can arrive at 6:00. Business meetings begin at 7:00. A guest speaker
typically gives a presentation during the business meeting, followed by CABA agenda items and general
